Creative Maths Day - Spring 2013

Creative Maths Day - Spring 2013

In Foundation Stage, our recent maths focus has been exploring patterns. We have been finding patterns in nature and the environment, continuing and making our own repeating patterns and exploring symmetrical patterns too - making links to our Literacy focus book 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'.

To celebrate Creative Maths Day, we continued the theme of patterns and enjoyed making healthy fruit kebabs - sequencing our fruits into a repeating pattern. Have a look at some of the photographs taken whilst we made them and enjoyed munching on them too.

To follow up on our day, we made a pictogram showing our favourite fruits tried. We discussed what we found out from our work - counting how many enjoyed each fruit, finding out which was the least and most popular fruits.
