We are delighted to announce that as part of our learning this half term we will be introducing a brand new learning experience in Foundation Stage. The Foundation Stage staff have recently undergone training to support learning in woodwork.
As preparation for early writing we will be doing woodwork using tools under close supervision. Children will be given training in how to use appropriate safety equipment and to handle and use tools correctly and safely. They will use real tools to develop fine motor skills by strengthening grip, developing hand/eye co-ordination and improving dexterity. Children will be able to plan, select measure and join materials to create their own design.
