Science Vision

At St Anne’s, we teach science so that children learn to question, think critically, and understand that doubt and curiosity are essential parts of scientific thinking. Our curriculum builds a secure appreciation of key knowledge and concepts, taught in a carefully sequenced way to ensure clear progression from Early Years to Year 6.

We aim for pupils to develop the skills needed to explain, predict and analyse, using precise scientific vocabulary and practical enquiry to deepen understanding. Through high-quality teaching and meaningful hands-on experiences, we ensure that all learners can access, apply, and remember their learning over time.

Above all, we want children to feel excitement and curiosity about the world around them. By nurturing independent, resilient learners who are confident in asking and answering questions, we equip pupils with the foundations for future scientific learning and the knowledge they need to succeed beyond primary school.

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” — Albert Einstein
